| The Oriental lilies
prefer acid soil and temperate, moist summers. Provide
these by shade, mulching, or container culture if necessary.
Their enormous flowers, heavenly fragrance, and late
summer bloom time are worth the extra efforts! |

‘Cobra’ is
a new Dutch Oriental hybrid that dazzled us at the Liliade. Its
fragrant flowers are the richest magenta red, perfectly
upright, and have just a hairline of white “frost” at
the edge of each petal. The buds are richly colored
for days before they bloom. 4 feet, late August.

 |
‘Casa
Blanca’ has world-famous enormous
pure white flowers of incredible beauty! Add to that
its marvelous fragrance and
robust, broad-leaved stems, and you’ll see
why this is a long time garden favorite. 4 feet,
August.

‘Bernini’ strikes
a perfect balance between color and light. The
luminous blooms are peony pink, and glow with vibrant
color in any weather. Sweet
fragrance. 4
feet, August.

‘Sorbonne’ is
our favorite lavender pink Oriental! We love its superb,
wide-petalled fragrant flowers
with pure rose-pink coloring and crisp white margins.
4 feet, August.

‘Muscadet’
is a sumptuous Oriental lily with enormous white
ruffled blooms speckled in deep pink with a lighter pink
blush. Flowers are quite long-lasting; most held their shape
and color for over a week this year. Aromatic and gorgeous!
4 feet, August.
