Nanus Gladiolus are a great new addition to our selection. These are a type of (mini) gladiola that has many benefits over the standard common gladiolas available. The Nanus Gladiola ( aka Colvilei Gladiola) only grows to about 24-28” tall and is not nearly as susceptible to toppling over due to wind and heavy rains. Another big bonus over regular Gladiolas is that these these are hardy to Zone 5 and will thrive well year after year in most areas. The flowers are more exotic looking and almost orchid like, they are a garden favorite for Hummingbirds and butterflies. They do require a little more water than other gladiolas, the soil at the bulb/corm level cannot be allowed to dry out . Plant the corms about 4 inches deep and 6 inches apart in a full sun or half shady spot.
