‘Mi Amigo’

Growing in the hybridizer’s garden for more than 30 years, this glowing, indestructible lily never fails to impress.  Though it’s name has been lost (possibly an L. dauricum x L. longiflorum hybrid from Sun Valley Bulb Farms long ago?), this glowing, colored-up lily never fails to impress.  Rich golden orange color is sunfast.  Judith notes that the LA hybrids failed to catch on—chiefly because of their susceptibility to botrytis and color-breaking virus in the cooler, wetter climate of the Pacific Northwest.  'Mi Amigo' has thrived and remained disease free in Wyoming’s harsher digs of hot, dry summers and cold, snowy winters.  If your locale doesn’t meet these extremes—success is questionable.
