'Piper’ (Sherwin) is a complex Asiatic hybrid with L. pumilum and L. davidii v. unicolor in its makeup. An understated, mysterious charmer. Numerous soft orange turks-cap type flowers with raised papillae and a few rust red streaky spots on the lower half of the tightly recurved petals. Strong 3 to 5 foot stems. Blooms mid-season—starting in mid-July. Durable and hardy. At home with perennials and annuals in ‘Cottage Style’ mixed borders.
