Something new and very, very special! Master hybridizer Johan Mak’s newest Asiapets bring us new forms and color patterns in this so-difficult-for-breeding group! These hybrids carry the genes of the drought-resistant trumpets plus the disease resistance and elongateed, many-budded infloresence of Lilium davidii, broadend by an additional generation of strong garden Asiatic genes!
‘Singing Sands’ (Mak) carries large, outfacing soft sandy peach flowers, with their beautiful recurving petals displaying a “necklace” of deeper spots ringing the centers of the flowers. There’s something luminous about the flowers, reminding us of creamy marble. It is also lightly fragrant. 3 to 4 feet and eventually taller, late June.
